Program Studi Ilmu Komputer/Informatika (PSIK) di bawah naungan Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Indonesia (Fasilkom UI) memberikan pendidikan dan keahlian di bidang Ilmu Komputer pada tingkat sarjana (S1).

Dengan pengalamannya selama 20 tahun, PSIK Fasilkom UI telah diakui kemampuan dan kualitasnya dalam memberikan pendidikan tingkat sarjana di bidang Ilmu Komputer/Informatika. Lulusan-lulusannya diterima di kalangan bisnis dan industri sebagai tenaga-tenaga di bidang Ilmu Komputer dan Teknologi Informasi yang berkualitas tinggi. Hasil kajian pelacakan alumni menunjukkan bahwa 90% dari lulusan PSIK mendapatkan pekerjaan kurang dari 3 bulan setelah kelulusannya. Sebagian besar alumni berkerja di perusahaan multinasional, dan sebagian lagi membuka usaha sendiri dalam bidang Teknologi Informasi serta melanjutkan ke jenjang pendidikan yang lebih tinggi.

Program Studi Ilmu Komputer/ Informatika menawarkan keseimbangan antara fondasi keilmuan yang kokoh dan keterampilan professional dalam bidang Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi. Fondasi Ilmu Komputer yang diberikan meliputi meliputi algoritma dan pemrograman, matematika diskret, basis data, sistem operasi, jaringan komputer, arsitektur komputer, teori komputasi, rekayasa perangkat lunak, perancangan dan pemrograman web, serta sistem cerdas.

Untuk pengembangan keterampilan profesional, PSIK menawarkan berbagai mata kuliah terapan yang dapat digolongkan ke dalam beberapa peminatan:

1. Bidang minat Komputasi Ilmiah, meliputil: pengolahan citra, machine learning, komputasi numerik linear dan nonlinear.
2. Bidang minat Teknologi Perangkat Lunak, meliputil: kriptografi dan keamanan informasi, sistem interaksi, metode formal dan teknik kompilator.
3. Bidang minat Arsitektur Komputer dan Embedded Systems, meliputil: mikroelektronika, rancangan sistem digital, embedded systems, dan real-time systems.

Di samping itu, didalam proses belajar-mengajarnya, dikembangkan pula berbagai kemampuan soft skills, yakni kemampuan-kemampuan dalam berkomunikasi, bekerja dalam tim (kelompok), menulis karya ilmiah, berpikir kreatif dan inovatif serta memiliki etika profesi. Kemampuan-kemampuan tersebut menyatu didalam kurikulum PSIK dan dibangun melalui tugas-tugas kelompok, presentasi, diskusi, kerja praktek ke dunia industri atau bisnis, dan lain-lain

In 2002, Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Indonesia (Fasilkom UI) established a collaboration with the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at The University of Queensland (ITEE UQ) to offer an undergraduate International Class Program in Information Technology (IT) and Computer Science (CS).

This program prepares its students to become graduates who are able to meet the challenges in the era of globalization, to compete in regional and international job markets, and be able to pursue further advanced degrees. To achieve these objectives, the program is conducted by highly qualified and experienced lecturers in the fields of Computer Science and Information Technology from both institutions.

Fasilkom UI is one of the foremost institutions in Indonesia which offers degree programs in IT/CS. Beginning from its roots dating back to 1972 as a centre for computer science, Fasilkom UI has played a key role in developing IT in Indonesia, and continually delivers high quality education, research and services to meet the needs of its stakeholders.

The School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at The University of Queensland is one of the largest and most prestigious of Australia’s 39 universities. It is internationally acclaimed for its strength in teaching and research and its qualifications are recognised worldwide.

• Period 2: Semester 6 – 8 at ITEE UQ.

Outstanding students will have the further opportunity to enter the Honours degree program at ITEE UQ.
